The Research Group Popular Culture(s) of Die Junge Akademie is organising a workshop on the subject of "Utopian Media". The members of Die Junge Akademie are invited to participate in the workshop.

Within the framework of the workshop, the connection between media/mediality and utopia from the Renaissance to the present will be examined on the basis of model analyses. Specifically, individual utopian media and various utopias/dystopias of the media will be discussed. The focus will be on reflection on the current possibilities of digitality and its imaginative potential within a historical contouring.

The literary scholar Caspar Battegay is responsible for the workshop. The complete programme can be found here (in German).
