Workshop „Proofing the Academy II“

As part of the "Proofing the Academy" project, the Research Group Science Policy is examining how academic freedom in Germany can be better protected in the face of growing social and political tensions. The aim is to systematically identify threats to academic freedom, evaluate international experiences and, on this basis, develop practical recommendations for action for universities, academics and political and administrative decision-makers.

An initial workshop to take stock of threats and vulnerabilities within the German academic system took place in autumn 2025. The upcoming workshop on 26 June 2026 is the second in the series. International experts and stakeholders from politics, public administration, higher education institutions and civil society have been invited.
