The FEST will take place after the summer plenary session has concluded. The formal programme focuses on the admission of new members and the farewell of retiring members and leads to the dinner and social gathering.

The draw for the “Best Research Environment 2026” competition will also take place that evening. The Volkswagen Foundation and Die Junge Akademie are organising this competition for the second time. On 27 June, five teams will be drawn at random from the shortlist of 15 teams, each of which will receive prize money of 10,000 euros.
