Teaching

Is it, for instance, realistic to expect good teaching from someone who does not conduct research?

The RG, Teaching, focuses on all questions concerning the comprehensive subject of teaching. Is it, for instance, realistic to expect good teaching from someone who does not conduct research?

Or, vice versa, can good research be expected from someone who does not teach? Despite serious deficiencies, the teaching at German universities does not seem to be as bad as its reputation. A collection of examples from particularly succesful classes and study programmes is used to encourage lecturers to pursue similar ideas in their own occupations.

Apart from addressing science policy topics, e.g., through the organisation of ad-hoc discussions about general conditions of good teaching, the RG, Teaching, promotes the exchange of tips and tricks based on practical experience.
