On 10 November 2025 at the Hungarian Embassy in Berlin, a STEM Talk with Nobel Prize winner Katalin Karikó will take place. Katalin Karikó, biochemist and professor at the University of Szeged, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2023 for her research on mRNA technology, which formed the basis of the COVID-19 vaccines. Her career is an impressive example of scientific perseverance, curiosity and courage to persevere.

During the evening, she will talk about ‘The Karikó Method’ and discuss career paths in research, challenges and perspectives with other scientists. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for questions, exchange and networking over a buffet.

Hani Harb, member of the Board of Die Junge Akademie, will participate in the event.

Registration by email to science.ber@mfa.gov.hu is required.
