Postcolonial Hierarchies in Peace and Conflict / ABI
Arnold-Bergstraesser-Insitut (ABI) Freiburg
Our team is part of the BMBF competence network Postcolonial Hierarchies in Peace and Conflict, involving researchers from the Universities of Bayreuth, Erfurt, Marburg, and the ABI in Freiburg. The network investigates postcolonial trajectories and their impact on conflict and peace processes, fostering innovation and collaboration among scholars from diverse disciplinary, cultural, and institutional backgrounds. The applying team is based at ABI, an interdisciplinary research institute for transregional and comparative area studies. It has a record of hosting projects on, and international researchers from Africa, Latin America, Middle East and Asia. We build on this setting to exchange and continuously reflect on how global hierarchies affect knowledge production and dissemination, while confronting them in our research. The team includes two student assistants (Dahl & Martelo), one PhD (Bartelmann), two Postdocs (García Pinzón & Rodríguez), and two PIs (Jenss & Zanker).
