Teaching

The Research Group

The RG Teaching focused on all questions concerning the comprehensive subject of teaching. Is it, for instance, realistic to expect good teaching from someone who does not do research?

Or, vice versa, can good research be expected from someone who does not teach? Despite serious deficiencies, the teaching at German universities does not seem to be as bad as its reputation. A collection of examples of particularly successful teaching classes and study programmes is used to encourage lecturers to pursue similar ideas in their own locations.

Apart from addressing science policy topics, e.g., through the organisation of ad-hoc discussions about general conditions of good teaching, the RG Teaching promoted the exchange of tips and tricks based on practical experience.
